The Japanese art of kimono sewing
A Japanese woman named Izumi is a master tailor specializing in making kimonos. Her mission is to pass on the knowledge and keep the practice alive. Along with her husband, Tetsuo who is a storyteller and performer, they run a small cafe where they host kimono making lessons. Together they also do a special performance where Tetsuo tells the story based on Izumi’s journey while she actively makes a kimono. This is a unique look into one of the fading traditions of Japan.
